Thanksgiving is the time of the year where we are grateful for our blessings that we received during the year. With the energy of mindfulness you can create your own sanctuary and be grateful for having a home to come back where you can spend some time with your loved ones and recharge. When I went to a meditation retreat in Thailand, one of the first things that called my attention is the phrase by the Vietnamese monk Thich Nhat Hanh: "breathing in, I have arrived, breathing out, I feel at home". This refers not only to the inner peace that you feel when you enter one of their sanctuaries called Plum Village but also to the sensation that each of us should feel when we come to our own home.

When we practice mindful eating, with each bite we are tasting and appreciating the value of the planet and our own lives, that we are able to enjoy and nourish our body. Make this opportunity to enjoy this shared experience with your loved ones around the dinner table starting from intentionally setting up the table and making a nice atmosphere as part of the ritual, These valuable moments are what makes a house a home that you always want to come back to. Happy Thanksgiving!
